The origin of their names goes back to a birthday card i gave my mom when i was quite young. It had two teddy bears on the front that i chose names for and wrote beside each one. Mills for her and Wills for me. The names have stuck and are often used in address to one another. I decided for my mom's birthday this year to create two owls, also named mills and wills. I sculpted them out of clay and hand painted them. I then mounted them on a branch i found outside and super glued those suckers right on there. No feathers were ruffled in the process. -crickets- She absolutely loved the gift which obviously was my objective.
Mrs. Hardy, averaging 50 yrs old and weighing in at "rotund" is grading papers. She sports a short tight perm with gold hoop earrings big enough for a small bird to perch on. She has a piercing look of concentration (with a dash of "oh no you deedn't" on her face) directed over her small square bifocals to her stack of papers below. She sips her coffee with extra cream and sugar approximately every 55 seconds and then smacks her lips, which remain pursed.
My suspicion is that she probably enjoys shopping for jewelry on television and inviting her lady friends over for orange julius's and a game of mahjong on occasion.
